That's the theme and goal of the 2008 Trent Tucker Celebrity Golf and Poker Tournament, set for September 11th-13th.
Michael Jordan heads the list of celebrities and entertainers committed to participate in the event's 10th year.
Since 1998 the tournament has raised more than $1 million for local charities and provides crucial funding for the Trent Tucker Youth Program, an initiative that provides Twin Cities at-risk middle school students with leadership training, career development and educational opportunities. Other sports celebrities expected to participate are former NBA stars Patrick Ewing and Scottie Pippen.
"It's gratifying to see so many celebrities and friends, such as Michael Jordan, return to our event year after year," said Trent Tucker, former University of Minnesota and NBA basketball star and founder of the Trent Tucker Non-profit Organization.
"They come back because they really want to make a difference in the lives of young people, and this is one way they can put their commitment into action."
The event kicks off with a poker tournament at Running Aces Harness Park in Columbus, Minn. on Thursday, Sept. 11th.
An invitation-only celebrity VIP reception hosted by Bentley and Maserati of Minneapolis is set for Friday, Sept. 12, followed by an open-to-the-public party at the Epic, Minneapolis.
The golf tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 13 at Rush Creek Golf Club, Maple Grove.
About the Trent Tucker Youth Program:

Watching Vijay Singh snatch another PGA Tour victory in Tiger Woods' absence was a fitting way to start a week that ends with Hakeem Olajuwon's enshrinement in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Singh is the closest thing any other sport has to Olajuwon, the man who best took advantage of some down time by The Man.
From 1990 to 1997, every time Michael Jordan showed up for training camp, he wound up raising the Larry O'Brien trophy over his head at the end of the season. But the two times he didn't, Olajuwon swooped into the void.
That's how Olajuwon earned the highest accolade you can give him, a tag much greater than "12-time All-Star" or "franchise's all-time scoring and rebounding leader." All that needs to be said for his career is this: The Houston Rockets don't have to apologize for taking him ahead of Jordan in the 1984 draft.
Olajuwon won two championships and a Most Valuable Player award. It's everything you could ask for from a No. 1 overall pick, and he delivered.
To anticipate or envy Jordan's career and what it meant to the Bulls would be excessive. Don't be jealous of the guy driving the Ferrari in the next lane; just be glad you aren't riding the bus.
Olajuwon gave the city of Houston its first big league championship and granted the Rockets access to the most exclusive club in major pro sports. Since Olajuwon entered the league in 1984, only seven teams have won the NBA championship. In that time span there have been 16 World Series champions, 13 Super Bowl winners and 12 Stanley Cup champions.
The only question is, do we devalue Olajuwon's championships and MVP award because they came while Jordan missed one entire season and all but 17 games of the next during his first retirement?
Not at all.
This is where Singh comes in. You'll notice that his three major victories -- the 1998 and 2004 PGA Championships and the 2000 Masters -- came when Tiger was retooling his swing and going through his two longest major droughts. So what does that make Singh? A three-time major champion. No asterisk affixed, no questions asked. And now that Woods is out after knee surgery, Singh is zeroing in on the funky FedEx Cup. It's an open range out there, but you don't see Phil Mickelson or Sergio Garcia padding their win totals.
The further we get from the events, the less we care about how they were won. Nearly a quarter century later, Mary Lou Retton is still an Olympic hero even though her 1984 gymnastics gold medal came amid an Eastern Bloc boycott, with nary a Nadia or Svetlana in sight.
The same goes for Olajuwon. They still held the NBA Finals in '94 and '95, with or without Jordan. The league didn't come to a halt. (For what it's worth, Olajuwon's 1995 team swept the Orlando Magic squad that took out Jordan and the Bulls).
There's a whole generation of players who had the misfortune of coming of age at the same time as Jordan. It was like hoping to win a Grammy the year "Thriller" came out.
Jordan is personally responsible for denying championship rings to half the Dream Team. Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, John Stockton, Christian Laettner ... they all suffered at least one playoff loss at Jordan's hands.
But they all had an equal opportunity when Jordan was gone, and Olajuwon was the only won to cash in. He got his first ring at Ewing's expense, which makes Ewing's inclusion in this 2008 Hall of Fame class a little bit cruel. Ewing is the opposite of Olajuwon. He's the guy tormented the most and longest by Jordan, starting with the jumper that beat Georgetown and launched the Jordan legend in the 1982 NCAA championship game, and continuing through five NBA playoff meetings, all won by Jordan. (In the ultimate sign of can't-beat-'em-join-'em, Ewing wound up as an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards in Jordan's last year there and often walked around clad head-to-toe in Brand Jordan gear).
At some point during this weekend's ceremonies, Ewing will have to flash back to 1994. With Jordan finally out of the way, off playing Double-A baseball, Ewing had a clear shot at that elusive ring ... until Olajuwon blocked it. Olajuwon outscored Ewing 189-133 and outshot him 50 percent to 36 percent in a seven-game NBA Finals.
Ewing would never get as close to a championship as he did in that Game 7 defeat. It came just a couple of weeks after his greatest moment, when he followed up a missed shot by John Starks to send the Knicks past the Indiana Pacers and into the NBA Finals. Against Houston, there were just too many Starks misses, 16 of them in that last game, and not enough Ewing could do about it. Certainly not enough to overcome Olajuwon, the MVP of that series (and the next year's NBA Finals as well, after he thoroughly dismantled David Robinson in the conference finals).
Olajuwon distanced himself from his center contemporaries and put more hardware on the shelf than either Ewing or Robinson. More importantly, he separated himself from Jordan, emerging from the often-smothering silhouette that often blanketed the league. Jordan's collection is larger, but he has none of the most important items (rings, MVP awards or Olympic gold medals) that Olajuwon does not have as well.
The only missing element is an answer to what would have happened if they had met head-to-head in the NBA Finals. While that's something we want to know, Olajuwon doesn't need it. He has every bit of validation he needs.
When you think about early 90's Hip Hop and early 90's basketball two major influences come to mind...
Michael Jordan and A Tribe Called Quest.
One of my favorite clothing brands UNDRCRWN made this connection a few years ago dropping the "UNDRCRWN THEROY" shirt mixing Tribe's "The Low End Theroy" album cover with a classic shot of Mike from the '85 Dunk Contest.
UNDRCWN kept that theme going with the very popular "KEEP BOUCING" RockSmith Tokoyo coloabroation shirt.
It's no surprise that Jordan Brand is taking this same idea and creating a sneaker with the same concept.
I am a big fan of the Air Jordan I's and A Tribe Called Quest, really looking forward to seeing this sneaker in person.
Jordan Brand even has some shirts dropping with the sneakers that are a play on one of the best hip-hop albums of all time, Midnight Marauders.
Not exactly the most original idea from the Jordan Brand, but it's still a dope concept no matter who thought of it first.
With his professional baseball career already up in smoke, Mike decided to smoke up while playin' a little baseball on Labor Day.
Mike hit a local baseball diamond in Atlanta for a Labor Day softball classic with his boy Jermaine Dupri, where the former minor leaguer refused to take the cigar out of his mouth the entire game.
He hit, he smoked. He stole, he smoked. He fielded, he smoked. He even ripped his jeans while sliding into third -- cigar in mouth the entire time.
A Pair of Retro Air Jordans... $150.
New Air Jordan basketball shorts... $40.

Earlier this Summer, Jordan Brand's Gentry Humphrey was spotted wearing the "Black/Cactus/Violet" Jordan Spizike at a Jordan release in Europe.
Pics of his sneakers quickly circulated around the Net. New pics of the Spizikes recently hit the Net once again. They features a Black Nubuck upper, a Cactus and Violet Elephant print, Violet contrast stitching, and a Translucent Cactus outsole.
As of now, word has it that the "Black/Cactus/Violet" Jordan Spizike is set for a Euro only release. Stay tuned for more info.
Within a year of reaching for his bottle, Anthony Iglesia reached for his first basketball.
The seven-year-old has been practicing in hopes being like his favorite player, Michael Jordan.
"He's a great basketball player and he's aggressive. He's strong!" Anthony said.
Two weeks ago, he and his parents headed to Santa Barbara, California for Jordan's five-day youth basketball camp. They never expected that out of 600 kids, Michael Jordan would pick Anthony as his teammate for a game of two on two going up against San Antonio's Tony Parker and another child.
Although he felt a little nervous, Anthony kicked into high gear sinking lay-ups and two- and three-point shots.
Anthony’s father, Gerard Iglesia, coached basketball at Rochester's School of the Arts for more than a decade.
"It's funny because a lot of times I tell him, 'Anthony, you don't need to shoot from way out there,’ you know, when he's practicing," he said. "As a father and as a coach, the only thing better than me playing with mike is watching my son go out there and shoot the ball."
But, in the Iglesia household, basketball is on the backburner to academics and never pushed. Anthony's mother, Karen Iglesia, is the founder of Iglesia Educational Centers.
At the end of the shoot-around, Jordan's placed a proud hand on Anthony's head.
"He said I'm the best 8-year old at the camp," Anthony said.
Anthony found that funny because he's actually still seven.
Looks like Kobe is not the only one doing dirt in Denver...
An old story resurfaced on ISS today about Mike and Adult Film Star Kylie Ireland's alleged one night stand in Colorado back in 1993.
Enjoy this radio interview as Kylie goes over the details of the night she claims she got slammed by Mike.
The story originally came out in 1996 in Sexpose Magazine, three years after the incident occurred.
Here's Kylie's original story from that magazine interview.
Ireland: "I was working at a strip club in Denver. The Bull were in town to play the Nuggets. Some of the Bulls came into the strip club I was at, The Diamond Cabaret in Denver. Michael Jordan was sitting there with a bunch of people.
All the girls were around him. I knew it was Michael Jordan, and I loved to meet him but I didn't want to fight through all these girls. So I just ignored him. He said I was the only girl who ignored him and he found me intriguing. So I went and did a couple of table dances for him. This club I was dancing at had a five star restaurant so the girls could go next door and have dinner with the customers, that type of thing. I went next door and had dinner with him. He was very nice. Gentleman. Great conversationalist- a snazzy dresser.
He's a really good guy. I really was impressed. At the end of the night he was you want to come back to my hotel? Sure. He was really cool. Yeah, because he was famous I decided to go. But if he'd been an asshole I wouldn't have gone. But it was just the fact he was really cool and I really liked him, too. He was married and still is married. He was telling me about his baby girl Jasmine that had been born at that time. We were consenting adults and that was our decision. The story didn't even come out until 1996. Over a pizza and a bottle of wine I told the wrong story to the wrong person.
The next thing I knew they were going to print it in the magazine. They said we want you to read the story and see what you think. It was all wrong and so I went, ah, man, just let me write it. And so I wrote the story in my own words and that's how it came out in Sexpose Magazine. If you can find a copy of that anymore, I have a few that I'm selling off on eBay because I only have a handful of them myself. And you can read the whole story. It's also on my website, too. He was really cool. To end the story he offered to take me in a limo back to the hotel. I said I have a car, I can't leave it here.
He was like I'll ride with you then. I'm like, okay. The funny thing is I drive a Honda Del Sol at the time. It's a very small car. Michael Jordan is a very tall man and his knees were grazing the dashboard and his head was grazing the roof. It was like stuffing him into a tin can. And then on top of that on the way to the hotel, despite the fact that I grew up in Colorado, I got us lost in downtown Denver. There's a mess of one-way streets. I told him I'm not crazy stripper, I'm just lost. We went back to his room and had a good time.
He wasn't really kinky or nasty or anything like that. But the question I get asked is did he go down on you. Yes he did. We did several different positions. Before we started going we were rolling around and kissing and fondling. He was, oh, I don't have a condom. He picks up the phone- whoever- a teammate or I don't know, towel boy, condom boy, I don't know what they have. Hey, he goes can you get me some condoms. Next thing you know they're slipped under the door. They were actually too small. He had to pick up the phone and call again. Once the condom issue was solved we went our merry little way. That was it. It was a fun night. I don't regret doing it.
I've never slept with anybody else famous. And I get the accusations- even now- ten years later, that you're just telling it because you want to get some money out of him. If I wanted money I would have told the story the next day. The fact that it came out three years after the fact, and now, I'm still getting mail from people going you're just trying to get money out of him. Yeah, ten years after the fact I'm trying to get money. Whatever. That's it in the nutshell, the Michael Jordan story. It is a true story.
Before they would even run it in the magazine, they made me take lie detector tests. They sent out a private detective to talk to people who had seen him in a club, and people at the hotel who saw us together. That type of thing. It's all documented. And people get their tail feathers all in an uproar over it. He's a consenting adult. He made the choice to do it just as much as I did it. He never told me I couldn't tell anybody. Like I said, I didn't tell it the next day. If you're going to sleep with a famous person, and he was my first black man, Michael Jordan's the one."
It's really up to you if you belive the story or not, but either way it's a great story.
Mike lost in Colorado riding shotgun in a Honda Del Sol with some crazy ass white stripper bitch having condoms slipped under the hotel room door.
Kobe is becoming more and more Like Mike everyday.
