Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game”

Check out these Black and Red Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” editions...

The Flu Game, as it is referred to, was the game in the 1997 where Michael battled through the flu to drop 38 points.

These kicks commemorate the accomplishment with OG colorway, but with sueade instead of leather and detailing like the 38 for the total points scored in the game, 97 for the the year it happened, and of course the sick smiley face logo originally featured in Mike's "Driven From Within" book. These sneakers are set to drop sometime this November.

Maybe all that Gatorade, was worth it after all, looks like it helped Mike stay in the game.

Here is a look back at that historic game thanks to "HoopsEncyclopedia".

Enjoy-

Thank NiceKicks for the info.

LeBron James -- The Secret Dunk Exposed

Doesn't live up to the hype, but here it is...

Click HERE to see the video

Thank TMZ for knowing everything.

See the infamous dunk Lebron didn't want you to see!

Tonight at 6:45 TMZ.com is going to air the infamous dunk that Lebron & Nike didn't want anyone to see.

You know what i'm talking about -- the legendary moment where some virtually unknown college kid blasted a two-handed dunk right in King James' FACE -- at his very own LeBron James summer basketball camp!

LeBron's & Nike reportedly confiscated all video proof, but TMZ finally found the one SURVIVING copy of the moment LeBron became LeBitch ... and it's awesome!!!!

TMZ is going to premiere the footage on the website at 6:45 PM EST.

Do you think the dunk is as bad as everyone said it was?

Stay tuned.

Not Really...

Check out this picture from an old 1985 Ebony Magazine. It features an image of what Chicago artist Nathan Wright thought Michael Jackson would have looked like in the year 2000.

"At age 40 he will have aged gracefully and will have a handsome, more mature look."

Good call Nathan.

Thank "Ignored Prayers" for the flick.

Wade signs with Jordan Brand

I won't say I told you so...

But I saw this coming from a mile away.

Here's Wade's thoughts on signing with Jordan Brand.

''For me, the move to Jordan Brand is a dream come true,'' Wade said in a statement released by Nike. ``As a kid, I grew up on the south side of Chicago idolizing Michael Jordan and have worked hard to achieve the same success that he's had on the court. I have enormous respect for this brand and all that it stands for. I'm humbled to be a part of the Team Jordan family and I'm looking forward to a great future.''

Here's a few pictures from an older post "48 Hours of Intense Heat" where D. Wade showed up to a meet n greet outside the Triple A rockin the CDP AJ IV's.

I honestly think he would have been better off with a NIKE contract like Lebron & Kobe, but its way better then Converse.

Can't wait to see what his first shoe under the Jordan Brand looks like.

I did a post "Sign of the times" about D. Wade Originally posted on 11/16/07, I was lucky enough to be at the American Airlines Arena for the filming of one of Dwayne Wade's Converse commercials.

I was hoping to see Spike but it he didn't film this one.

Here is video of the commerical.

Here's a few pictures I took during the 2 day shoot at the American Airlines Arena.

Wade had Jay-z's "Lost One" blasting thru the arena during the whole sceen on the court without the ball, then when Wade was up in the press box on the intercom rapping along to Jay-z and a few other tracks. That was a day i'll never forget, one of the fun days to work at the American Airlines Arena.

Looking forward to the 09-10 NBA Season and seeing all of Wades new Jordan kicks in Heat colors.

Mike's Soul Glo Accident

Remember when Kayne said "They thought I was burnt up like Pepsi did Michael"?

Well here's the footage from when Mikes dome caught on fire back in '84.

Crazy right? Mike's head was on fire and he just kept on dancing like it was all good, when he did that spin at the end it looked like a damn smoke bomb went off.

Can you imagine the people in the crowd, seeing Mike coming down the stairs with his fucking head on fire?

When they finally put out the flames he came up with a serious bald spot, and I think thats when alot of the real problems started, pain medications, surgerys, all kinds of shit can happen when your head catches on fire.

Just let your SOOOOOOOUUUULLLLL GLOOOO...

Feeling oh so silky smooth, just let it shine!

KNICKS VS. SUNS BRAWL '93

Warmup windbreakers tearing, assistant coaches flying everywhere. Greg Anthony snuffs KJ, and still keeps his silk shirt fresh, pre-dress code. Starks does his signature fight move, a.k.a gully forehead-to-forehead trash talking. Even Rolando Blackman gets up off the bench looking for some, so you know it’s good.

At the time, Phoenix and New York were the two best teams in their respective divisions. The league handed out $160,000 in fines.

The brawl doesn’t really get going until the 4:00 minute mark, but it’s worth watching the fight-before-the-fight, if only to see how funny Danny Ainge looks when he’s mad.

Thank one of my new favorite websites "BreadCity.org" for the story.

A Real Jordan Head

I've seen alot of Jordan tattoos over the years, but this one really caught my attention...

Now I'm a die hard Jordan Head, but there is no way in hell I would EVER actually tattoo that mutha fucka's head on my body! But then again I did name my daughter Jordyn... anyways, congrats bro, you made the blog.

19,000 Gatorade bottles

A street art tribute to Michael Jordan made out of 19,000 Gatorade bottles, including the new Gatorade Limited Edition Jordan Series, glows on a basketball court Monday on Chicago's South Side...

Local Jordan fans and longtime Jordan teammate Scottie Pippen helped construct the mosaic, which Gatorade organized as a way to celebrate Jordan's Hall of Fame career.

Nice to see Gatorade doing things like this. Wish I could have been there for this one.

LIKE MIKE "Clothing"

Since my site is called LIKE MIKE "CLOTHING" I thought I would talk about some of my clothing on this post.

First off I want to say thank you for everyone that has made a purchase on the site and at the events we did over the last month. I just want each and every person to know that I appreciate all the love and support I have received.

Here's a look at some of our top sellers over the last month.

This one is called "KEEP YA HEAD UP"

I came up with the concept out of the clear blue sky, no thought, it just came to me, I got with my graphic designer and from the time we started the design was done in 30-45 minutes tops. Sometimes its the simple quick clean designs that do the best.

The photo is from the 1993 NBA playoffs, Mike was on the brink of making history and completing an NBA first 3-peat. Not something that is an easy task and this photo says it all.

In '93 2Pac dropped the classic "Keep Ya Head Up" track, when I saw this photo the phrase "Keep Ya Head Up" just popped into my head and I knew it had to go on a shirt.

This design is dedicated to every hard working person struggling to meet their goals, weather its trying to win an NBA Championship, or if its as simple as trying to earn enuff money to pay your rent. Keep ya head up, and keep hustling. Like Mike said in one of his books, "Nothing of value is gained without being earned".

Enjoy the song that inspired the name of this shirt, 2 Pac's 1993 Classic, "Keep Ya Head Up".

Now this shirt was a break from the norm as far was designs go. We call this shirt "A Million Bucks"

Now most of my designs up until this point were very Jordan based and didn't stray from that theme to much. But I came up with the idea and I thought damn, this concept is too damn fresh not to do.

We took the Milwaukee Bucks logo and spiced it up a little bit and the added the cherry on top with the Slick Rick eye patch.

What we have here folks is a winner!

This shirt is one of my top sellers and it has nothing to do with Jordan.

And like alot of my shirts, classic Hip Hop was the inspiration.

Enjoy Dougie Fresh & my man Ricky Ricky Ricky killing it live on stage.

Now this shirt is the first shirt we ever designed for the LIKE MIKE line, we actually released it as the 2nd shirt, but it was my first ever design and it is still hands down my best seller. I call this one the Original LIKE MIKE '88.

It's just a classic shot of Mike from the 1988 Dunk Contest. I would consider this image of Mike more on the rare side of dunk contest photos. And it is still one of my favorite photos of Mike in action of all time. Mike looks like he is in zero gravity just floating to the hoop and almost looks like hes going to hit his head on the rim. We did the shirt in over 20 different color schemes and everyone is a winner.

The shirt is a classic and it will never get old. The shirt was such a hit that I designed a part two that I never released. It was the LIKE MIKE '87. I have been sitting on the design for almost a year, expect to see the LIKE MIKE '87 by the end of the month.

And last but not least the Michael Jackson Tribute shirt.

This has been the most talked about, best selling, most personal shirt I have ever made.

I grew up on Mike. Way before Mike Jordan, I liked Mike Jackson. I have been a fan since I was very young and continued to be a fan even when being a Michael Jackson fan was NOT cool.

I designed this shirt 30 minutes after I heard he passed on that Thursday afternoon, I printed 2 dozen and took them with me to New York the next day for Sneaker Pimps.

Wearing the shirt around NYC the day after he passed and at Sneaker Pimps made the whole experience for me unreal. People stopping me on the streets and talking about MJ. Fans coming up to me and just dealing with the situation. At first I was kinda happy for Mike, he didnt have to work anymore, or try to please us. He could rest now, and not be judged. He was finally free from being Michael Jackson.

But as times goes on I now feel bad for Mike, my girl said something that changed my mind. Mike didnt wanna go. He had more to prove. He wanted that one last chance to prove to everyone that even with all the negative shit, he was still MICHAEL JACKSON. And i'm sorry he didnt get the chance. But his music will live on longer then any of us.

Thank you for all the hard work Mike, your legacy will live forever.

Rest in Peace to the best that ever did it.

Michael Jackson, the king of entertainment.

I am going to take my time and release a few more Michael Jackson shirts, just for the real fans, coming from a true Michael Jackson fan.

Stay tuned to the blog for LIKE MIKE "CLOTHING" posts as I break down some of our other top sellers.

And just so you know, all LIKE MIKE shirts are only $23 at the online store.

Go check out the store by clicking on the LIKE MIKE CLOTHING ONLINE STORE logo on the top right section of the blog or just go to www.LikeMike.BigCartel.com,

Thank you for your support!

DJ Premier Michael Jackson Tribute Mix

Michael Jackson’s iconic influence transcends into Hip Hop, as demonstrated by arguably one of the greatest Hip Hop producers of all time, DJ Premier.

This past Friday during DJ Premier’s weekly “Live From HeadQCourterz” show on Sirius, he brought forth a special tribute mix he put together for Michael Jackson. Since his passing there has been an overabundance of “tribute” mixtapes from several DJ’s, but none like this from Premo.

One post on ISS claims that the Chicago X's are dropping next year and these are a pair of the upcoming retros...

Look more like the originals to me, guess we will have to wait and see.

I know that would make alot of people happy, and a few people pretty mad.

Anyways... thats my little ISS wrap up for everyone that doesnt frequent the sneaker head fourms.
